Lady Rowena Kinnaird is in great danger! Following God’s guidance, the charming Duke Brice has come to her rescue by proposing. Would that be enough for her to be finally safe?
I loved this book! So beautifully written and set! By chapter 3 I had already got very involved with it.
I regreat I didn’t read the previous book, because there are many references to it and that background is important for understanding certain things here. I could learn what I needed to, though.
I really liked how characters grew throughout the story, especially Rowena and Brice. They were real in most of their emotions and decisions and it was great to see the development of their relationship.
There were A LOT of things going on: love, greed, envy, betrayal, traps…, but I didn’t get overwhelmed by them. I think everything was given the proper treatment, so I could relate easily.
At the beginning, I really imagined this will be a predictable and sweet lovestory, but everything changed suddenly and it became very complicated. There was a moment I even thought: there is no way all of this will get solved in one book. However, it was succesfully done without rushing things, which is something usually happens when problems in the plot are too big.
Since English is not my native language, I had a difficult time getting used to Rowena’s speaking manners, but I caught up fast enought and I actually learn to like it: aye!
A great read!
