MY SYNOPSIS

Millennials (hose born between 1980 and 2000) are struggling to find their place in church and faith for different reasons attached to their age and the challenges of their generation. Many of them are deciding to abandon it all, which leaves their parents completely broken.

This book a guide to help parents understand their millennial children in order to help them find their way back to Christian faith.

MY REVIEW

I think I was not exactly the target of this book, since I’m not a mother yet and my future kids will be anything but millennials. I chose it because I thought it would address this topic from a more general perspective. Nevertheless, it was interesting for me to learn how parents are being affected by the decisions their grown up children are making. They actually feel guilty for them, and I hadn’t seen it that way before.

I think many parents will find relief, empathy and hope through these pages. This a pretty complete guide to understand people my age with all the challenges we encounter in our everyday lives.

However, this book failed to keep me drawn into it. It might be because of the target thing, but I believe there was also a lot of redundant content and way too many quotes.

Besides, I thought I would find more apologetics. I think a great percentage of millennials abandon faith due to unanswered questions. This book, more than anything else, suggests that parents must listen to their children’s concerns and be a better example for them, which is good, but I think they also need more preparation in order to make a good case for Christianity.
